Let’s be honest, if you have kids, sometimes leaving your house for a few hours can be hard, or maybe you don’t even want to leave your house.

Maybe that’s exactly where you want to have a date, but you’re tired of the typical dinner and a movie.

Being in the comfort of your own home for a date night can be pretty awesome, we just have to think outside of the box! I am so excited to share with you, date night ideas at home that rock!

Mad Libs & Dessert – When my husband and I were younger, I used to go take him lunch while he was on his hour lunch break, we would sit in my car and play mad libs while we ate lunch. I will never forget those moments.

That’s where Mad Lib’s and Dessert come in, grab some mad libs, and your favorite desserts, it doesn’t have to be crazy, maybe get some zebra cakes, or an elegant box of chocolates and spend some quality time together.

Backyard Fire Pit + Dinner + Smores – The idea of sitting in the backyard with my husband, eating some dinner, making some smores and feeling the warmth of the fire and crisp air from the winter, sounds amazing.

Heck, pitch a tent, and grab a deck of cards, and whatever else will make your night, a night to remember.

The beauty in this date is, you feel like you actually are on a date, you are “out of your house” wait for the kiddos to go to sleep, and really enjoy your time together.

And last but not least…..

Make your own pizza + build a bucket list

There is something fun and romantic about cooking together! My husband and I never cook together, like ever. It’s typically it’s just me and occasionally he’ll make something.

This makes the perfect opportunity to cook together, buy your favorite toppings, pizza dough, you know all that fun stuff and lay everything out on the table, and there you have it!

While you’re eating your pizza, talk about new adventures you’d like to go on over a candlelit dinner. Another idea is to pull up YouTube and search for unique places you can visit for some inspiration!
